We only ask that you please be mindful of safety and ensure your powered equipment is plated and insured to be compliant with any provincial legislation.

DOG LICENSES PROPOSED TO MOVE TO LIFETIME

Council provided first reading to Bylaw 2018-11 at the Regular Meeting of Council November 27, which would see the introduction of lifetime licensing for dogs. This is great news for dog owners who could see savings over the lifetime of an average dog of between $360 - $600 based on current rates. The good news is slightly offset with proposed fee increases to $60 for neutered/spayed dogs and $100 for non-neutered/non-spayed dogs, but as a onetime fee, overall, it’s still a good deal.... COMMUNITY STANDARDS BYLAW AMENDMENT

Community Standards Bylaw #2016-18 section 2.7.4 prohibits the deposit of commercial flyers/private flyers, advertisements on power poles, light standards, municipal trees, benches, flower containers, garbage cans, sign posts, or other municipal, provincial or federal properties. The weather cooperated fabulously last night and hog dogs abounded, for the grand opening of the new playground at the Arctic Spas Recreation Complex. GFL Environmental has provided recycle services to the Town of Thorsby over recent years which allowed for the collection of commingled curbside products.
