Bob Goodward Nominated for National Volunteer Award
By Liz Willick The Town of Oxbow has nominated Councillor Bob Goodward as a stand-out volunteer to the CBC/Radio-Canada Champions of Change Competition. The program celebrates activism and citizenship through voulnteerism in Canada. Goodward has been a driving force behind the develpment of the Moose Creek Regional Park (MCRP) and Golf Course. Get out your skates and hit the ice at Oxbow's newly redecorated Community Rink. Thanks to Oxbow's Branch 187 of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Oxbow Lions Club, there's once again free ice time for public skating. Building Permits Were Second Highest Recorded
Saskatchewan's building permits were the second-highest ever recorded according to Statistics Canada in a report released on February 7, 2011. Building permits in 2010 totalled 2.1 billion (seasonally unadjusted just shy of the 2.2 billion recorded in 2008. Job seekers from Saskatchewan, across Canada and around the world visited www.saskjobs.ca in droves this January-with good reason. The site saw 10,183 job postings in January, a 27 per cent increase over last year and the largest January total since 2008.
