Now that Canadian Tire has announced the arrival of their store coming to St Paul, what does the residents of St Paul feel about this big box store coming to our community?

I definitely don't think of Canadian Tire as one of the *evil* big box stores that could come to our community (e.g. WAL MART). At least it is Canadian owned. I don't think it is much different from the box store we already have (Home Hardware). Maybe it will be open when other stores aren't? That's always a good thing.

GREAT!!
I think this is GREAT! Our town needs more variety. Clothing stores are definetly needed especially for small children. But not expensive name brand stores. We don't need Billabong clothes for infants. I think Canadian Tire will bring a lot of people from surrounding areas to town and when they are here they will eat here, fuel up here and shop at other stores. It is awsome that St. Paul is finally growing with GOOD stores!

where will they live?
We started a business and found an employee ready and willing to move here. Only problem is, where is the family suppose to live? There is absolutely no where to rent a house and there is certainly no low income houses available in the town. Not everyone that comes here to work can afford to purchase a house. Perhaps instead of buying old condemned hotels and contaminated lots the town should invest in some houses to rent out and make a little income off. The owners of these properties should be the ones getting there lots ready to sell since they made money off the businesses they ran.
