It takes so long in the grocery store because that seems to be where I catch up On where the Smith's went for holidays Or how much Rebecca's grown up Where artificial rain falls on the brocolli Where the yogurt's always on sale Where people ask me about the girls Next to ice cream that comes in a pail I still feel safe in my bed here The neighbors notice when I've been gone Sometimes they wheel the bins back up the drive When I've been gone too long And when I can, I make a ... Step one, drive to Saskatoon, step 2 fly to Edmonton, step 3, fly to Toronto....step 4, in another couple of hours, I'm off to St. Clara, Cuba. Man, what a day that turned out to be....I'm tired...I wish I knew why it was booked that way, but I swear for the sake of a little more money...I would have taken the more expensive more direct route rather than take more than 24 hours to get anywhere. To be fair, I do get to spend the next week in Cuba. I shouldn't complain, and I know it...but my ba... More...

As part of the MBA in Community Economic Development (CED) I've been taking, I get to go to Cuba for a course on Public Policy. I am grateful for the trip, but have to say, I'm not looking forward to the actual travel part...I drive to Saskatoon, and then fly to Edmonton, then to Toronto, then to Santa Clara. I leave today...and I arrive tomorrow afternoon. Still, I shall not complain! I doubt I would generate a whole bunch of sympathy. All the extra travel time means I get to arrive somewhat... More...

Apples to oranges...that is the comparison we make when we compare what we pay for taxes, with what 'they' pay for taxes in other larger towns. While being a tax payer does indeed entitle a person to a spot in the municipal chain...and I fully agree that one has not only the right, but the responsibility to take part in the proce... More...
