The Royal Canadian Legion is a national and local organization dedicated to the remembrance and service to veterans and community. To become a member contact Marie at 645-3098 or 645-2478. Meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the New Legion Hall. Here are some of the programs that the Legion sponsors on a fulltime basisVeterans Services support to veterans, exservice members and their families; Seniors Services health care, housing, social activities, medical support and information; Youth Activities support to cadet corps, Scouts Canada, sports organizations and financial assistance in the form of scholarships and bursaries; Remembrance poppy campaign, organizing and conducting national, regional and local Remebrance Day ceremonies, youth poster and essay contests, school programs and pilgrimages to historic wartime locations. Community Service financial and volunteer assistance to a wide range of charities. Facility is available for rental for meetings, weddings, family gatherings, conferences, flea market, cultural events, funerals, etc.
