About Lamont

Located a short 30 minute drive east of Edmonton on Hwy. 15, the town of Lamont was described by settlers as “the nicest open country a person could wish for”. This progressive, growing community of over 1700 provides relaxed country living with all the amenities of a larger centre.

If you're looking for a one or two day excursion, Lamont is the place to visit. Take the opportunity to visit the Mohyla, located just north of town. Constructed in 1991, the Mohyla marks the centenary of Ukrainian settlement in Canada. Be sure to view the murals in the Lamont Health Care Centre, and gracing the north wall of the high school.

Lamont also has a number of art, antique, and craft shops that will both surprise and please you.

We have an annual Community Fair and Perogy Festival, which is held at the end of June.  The event includes a parade; pancake breakfast; perogy concession; market square; tractor pull; perogy supper and much, much more!  It is an exciting event and we are proud of what our groups, organizations and volunteers can do!!  Watch for more detailed advertising each year.

Lamont has a full range of services and amenities, including accommodations, fine dining, and shopping to make your stay a pleasant one. Visit Lamont to experience city living-country style.
