Note: ASA mandates require that all previously qualified Referees to attend an Outdoor Refresher Clinic prior to the start of every season.
a) Millet Soccer will pay for the Referee Course (which includes the ASA Referee Registration Fee of $ 25.00)for each person wishing to attend, in return for which the referee will agree to officiate at those games they are requested in the ensuing season;
b) Referees / Linesmen should purchase their own uniform (which generally means black/referee shirt, black shorts and black socks - these can be purchased at places like United Cycle for about $ 25/$ 40 shirts, $ 15 shorts and $ 8/$10 socks). Those refereeing should also have a whistle, stop watch and pencil and be expected to arrive 15 minutes prior to game time. Millet Soccer will provide referees with Game Sheets they can use to record goalscorers, results etc. if they wish.
c) Only ASA approved referees/linesmen will be allowed to officiate during the Millet Days Tournament. This is generally a very "profitable/lucrative" weekend for our youth referees who can earn anywhere from $ 50 to $ 200 for their weekend work, depending upon the number of games they wish to officiate in.
In regards to GAME TIMES:
This is what FIFA rules dictate - however in some cases due to some communities travel needs times can be made a BIT flexible if AGREED upon PRIOR to starting the game.
Example - a U16 team from New Sarepta wants to only play 35 minutes halves due to being in Breton for a game - they would ask the opposing coach and the referee PRIOR to starting the game and come to an agreement - if no agreement is met PLAY THE REQUIRED TIME.
