Steampunkery: A STEAM Program with Joan Galat will be held on Wednesday, October 9th from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM. Author Joan Galat will be visiting and leading this special edition on engineering.

What Was Lost: Reflections From The 60s Scoo
p host by the Sixties Scoop Indigenous Society of Alberta and Lac La Biche County Libraries on Tuesday, October 15th from 9-4pm. Come and share in the experience of what was lost when Indigenous children were separated from their families and communities while being displaced around the world. Join us for a hands-on free learning exploring the effects of the Sixties Scoop on Indigenous people in Alberta. Suitable for Ages 14+.

Rhyme Time is held on Thursdays in the Wild Rose Room staring at 10:30am. This free drop in partner program between the Lac La Biche County Libraries and Parent Link is designed for ages 0 to 5 and no registration is required.

Rattle and Chat will run on Wednesday from now until October 16th from 10:30 -11:30am in the Wild Rose Room. This free partner program between Lac La Biche County Libraries, Alberta Health Services & Parent Link is designed for ages 0 - 17 months and their caregivers with no registration required.

Join us on Thursday, October 10th starting at 6:30pm for an exciting session entitled "Break the Fake: How to tell what’s true online". Participants will learn four quick, simple steps to fact-check anything they see online to be sure of information that’s reliable and debunk it if it isn’t. This free presentation is suitable for adults and students in grade six and up.

The 80’s Radical Escape Room will be held on Friday, December 6th from Noon-8pm with the last start time of 7pm. This will be our 4th Escape Room at the Stuart MacPherson Public Library and it happens to land on a Family Friday. We will have start times throughout the day, so teams must register in advance by calling 780-623-7467. 80's knowledge not required! This event is free and for ages 10 and up. Thank you to FCSS for providing the snacks and additional volunteers for snack shop.

Both branches of the Lac La Biche County Libraries will be closed on Monday, October 14th to celebrate Thanksgiving. Our outdoor book drop at the main branch (Bold Center) will remain open for your convenience.
