The 80’s Radical Escape Room will be held on Friday, December 6th from Noon-8pm with the last start time of 7pm. This will be our 4th Escape Room at the Stuart MacPherson Public Library and it happens to land on a Family Friday. We will have start times throughout the day, so teams must register in advance by calling 780-623-7467. 80's knowledge not required! This event is free and for ages 10 and up. Thank you to FCSS for providing the snacks and additional volunteers for snack shop.

Steampunkery: A STEAM Program will be held on select Wednesdays from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM. Upcoming projects include:
• November 27th – Drones
• December 11th - Chocolate Class

Rhyme Time is held on Thursdays in the Wild Rose Room staring at 10:30am. This free drop in partner program between the Lac La Biche County Libraries and Parent Link is designed for ages 0 to 5 and no registration is required.

Let’s Play Metewetan
is a partner program between Lac La Biche Native Friendship Centre, Parent Link and the library that will be held at the Native Friendship Centre. Join us on December 9th from 5:30-7pm for a cultural family literacy program for parents and their children ages 0-6. This program encourages parents to sing, rhyme, talk and play with their children. All family are welcome, and a free dinner will be provided.

Do you like science fiction, fantasy, steampunk, comics, gaming, or anime? Then come join us at our Annual Library Con! This is a pop culture convention is taking place during our Winter Reading Club 2020 on Saturday, January 11th. So don your cape, grab your mask, jump in your TARDIS and join us at the Stuart MacPherson Public Library where we will have activities for all ages from 11-3:30pm including a costume contest.

Lac La Biche County Libraries plans to be an official venue for Global Game Jam on January 31st through February 2nd. This event is open to students, hobbyists, and professionals who are interested in coming out, and joining a team of developers who will create a game over the course of 48 hours based on a theme set by the Global Game Jam organization. What to bring - Laptops, keyboard, mice, extra monitors, power bars, musical instruments, a willingness to collaborate and work with others, a desire to make something amazing within a set of limited resources. Don't forget to bring water bottles, sleeping bags, pillows, toothbrush and your favorite stuffed animal. Participation Requirements? This event is only open to people who are 18+. Off site development is not allowed. Bring a willingness and desire to participate for the entire 48-hour duration of the event. Load up on sleep before the event, no one needs to crash and burn.
