Summer hours for the Plamondon Municipal Library are Wednesdays from 9-4pm during July and then closed in August. For library access please use the rear entrance.

TD Summer Reading Club 2016
"Let's Get Wild" with the Lac La Biche County Libraries. Registrations have started and need to be done in person at the main branch so you can receive your reading club package. Whoever reads the most titles from July 1st to August 31st will win prizes. Call 780-623-7467 for more information. SRC events are open to all ages and will be held on Wednesdays from 2-4pm. Some of the upcoming themes include: Where the Wild Things are, Wild Hacking and Duct Tape Boats.

Arctic Discoveries - Gray Wolves of Alaska will be held on Wednesday, June 13th at 11:30am right in the Stuart MacPherson Public Library. With this year's TD Summer Reading Program theme being "Wild," it is the perfect opportunity to invite your young patrons ages 5-11 into your library to meet a real live wolf! Okay, so they will be meeting them on screen, but your young patrons are sure to be mesmerized by this educational, 45 minute videoconference opportunity hosted by the Alaska Zoo and their wolf pack.

RISE Event: Pirates will be held on Thursday, July 14th at the main branch starting at 2pm. Set sail during the Golden Age of Piracy to learn about the reality of pirates! Participants will be introduced to the stereotypical concepts of pirates and discuss where images of hooks, peg legs and eye patches originated. By examining such pirates as Edward Teach, otherwise known as Blackbeard, Captain Kidd and Calico Jack, participants will learn about the lives of real pirates. Recommended for ages 10+ and will be
presented by Anne Marie Millar of The Mariners' Museum.

RISE: Morning Sing-a-long well be held on Tuesday, July 19th from 10-11am and is suitable for ages 4-7. Join best-selling authors Rick and Erica Bergh in a sing-a-long as they joyfully engage you in their children's books! Come and discover the story, the music, and the people behind them.

All ages are welcome to join us at the main branch on Wednesday, July 20th from 2-4pm for Alberta Parks - Wilderness Survival Tips.

RISE Event: Floating Food Puffy Faces
will be on Thursday, July 28th from 10-11am. How do the astronauts go to the bathroom in space? See the astronaut's home including where they sleep, how they eat and experience how astronauts adapt to their new home with interactive demonstrations. You will discover the everyday challenges of how astronauts in orbit live from a mock-up of space station living quarters! It doesn't get any closer to home than this. Suitable for ages 8-13.
