Public Works Foreman

The Village of Edgerton is currently seeking to fill the Public Works Foreman vacancy. The Foreman will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer. The position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following areas:
• Street maintenance;
• Water and wastewater infrastructure monitoring, reporting, and maintenance;
• Park, Cemetery, and greenspace care;
• Supervising Public Works staff, including seasonal employees;
• Management of municipal property;
• Operation of municipal equipment;
• Applicants should be physically fit;
• Have experience with municipal operations.

Applicants must be team-oriented, comfortable in dealing with members of the public, maintain fiscal discipline, adopt a preventive and corrective approach to their duties, and be able to accommodate additional working hours as per emergency situations, snow plowing, and on-call weekends. The Village of Edgerton would highlight that it places a priority on collaboration, a positive personality, and representing the municipality with a high degree of professionalism.

Candidates must also have a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and a Water and Wastewater Operator Certification (Level I) as mandated by Alberta Environment and Parks. In lieu of that Certificate, the applicant is required to successfully obtain Level I Certification within a specified time.
